Ground-breaking Scottish Guardianship Service a model for others

The Scottish Guardianship Service, delivered in partnership between Aberlour Childcare Trust and Scottish Refugee Council, has helped to support more than 100 unaccompanied young people going through the asylum system, some of who are victims of trafficking.

Golden Rules for Participation

The Golden Rules of Participation are a set of principles designed to help anyone working with, and for, children and young people.  Their purpose is to remind adults of what participation means from the point of view of children and young people, and to encourage children and young people to think about what they need from adults to support them to participate.

In June 2013, the Children's Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 will come into force and like its predecessors the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968 and the Children (Scotland) Act 1995, there will be significant changes to hearings, however the fundamental role of panel members will remain the same.
