National CSE Working Group

About the CSE Working Group

The national Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Sub Group takes a lead role on behalf of the CSE Ministerial Working Group and Child Protection Committees Scotland (CPC Scotland) in developing proposals for policy and practice improvement in relation to CSE within the wider context of Child Sexual Abuse.

In response to the Public Petitions Committee inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation in Scotland, it was agreed that a programme of action to tackle Child Sexual Exploitation would be developed. Scotland’s first national Ministerial Working Group on Child Sexual Exploitation was established as a consequence and it was tasked to examine the issue of Child Sexual Exploitation and to develop a National Action Plan by examining the recommendations from the Public Petitions Committee, alongside their own expertise in child protection.

It is accountable to the CSE Ministerial Working Group and provides updates to Child Protection Committees Scotland.
